Community Tables: Find a Program and a Way to Participate
Community exhibitors can introduce local programs, education, and service opportunities. Ask about the next concrete step.
Ask how a program works
Ask who the program serves, where it takes place, whether there is a cost, and how to register. If eligibility matters, request the organization’s own published requirements rather than relying on an informal summary. Ask whether language support or an accessible appointment is available.
Keep a brochure or public link that identifies the organization and program. A useful note includes the contact route, deadline if any, and the action you need to take after festival day.
Participation can take different forms
You might attend a workshop, volunteer, share a resource, or become a community partner. Ask what training, time, or materials a role requires before committing. Organizations may need consistent help after a major event as much as help during it.
The festival does not imply an endorsement or guarantee of every outside service. Confirm current details with the organization providing the program. Use the community resources page as a checklist for evaluating the information you receive.
Make a useful introduction
If you are connecting someone else with a program, share the organization’s public information instead of promising an outcome. Explain why the program might be relevant and encourage them to verify the requirements. Ask permission before passing their contact details to a representative. A respectful referral preserves the person’s choice about whether and how to continue.
