Prepare Your Group for a Parade
Participation begins with a clear description of your group and practical questions for the event team.
Describe the entry you are proposing
Identify your group, a primary contact, and whether you are proposing walkers, dancers, musicians, a float, or a vehicle. Explain the approximate group size and any equipment or access needs. Ask which formats are actually being accepted before arranging transport or constructing an entry.
A participation inquiry is not approval. Confirm the route, staging location, arrival time, and applicable requirements with organizers before making a final plan.
Plan communication within the group
Choose one person to receive instructions and share them with participants. Agree on meeting arrangements, an end-of-route plan, and how to account for everyone. Follow any confirmed rules for sound, decorations, vehicles, and supervision.
Use the parade application route for the current form status. This preparation guide does not establish a route, eligibility rule, or approved entry.
Prepare after approval
After approval, share the actual instructions with every participant and assign a group contact. Review the approved format, meeting place, timing, and departure arrangements. Make sure any decoration or equipment matches the requirements you received. If your entry changes substantially, ask whether it needs a new review rather than arriving with a different plan.
